Real-Time Renal Function Monitor

How to provide clinicians continuous real-time monitoring of a patient’s kidney function? The MediBeacon uses an optical skin sensor combined with a proprietary agent that glows in the presence of light. With user research, we understood this low profile elastomer (elastic polymer) wearable sensor needed to be both comfortable for the patient and unobtrusive for the caregiver. We created a space-efficient monitor to focus caregiver attention on the most critical information.
